Lorraine June Heater dies at 82

Lorraine June Heater (nee: Kepshire), passed away peacefully Friday, August 14, 2009 at her home in Porter. She was 82.

She was born June 17, 1927 in Gary, the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Kanyuek) Kepshire both of whom preceded her in death.

On May 7, 1955 in Ft. Wayne, she married Ralph Heater, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1990.

She is survived by a son, Michael (Sue) Heater, of Chesterton; grandchildren, Amanda (Orson) Mills, of Porter, Adam Heater, of Chesterton, Jessica (Justin) Ebey of Milford and Erin (Sheldon) Rish, of Dayton, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Corrine, Trent, McKenna and Dawson and one sister, Marge Villars of Chesterton.

She was also preceded in death in 2006 by a son, Jeff Heater; three brothers, James, Edward and Samuel Kepshire; two sisters, Elizabeth Wozniak and Joann Morrisette and a grandchild.

Lorraine graduated from Froebel High School in 1945. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chesterton. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, Chesterton Lodge #846. She took great pride in being a hard worker, and was a long time employee of Faircraft Engineering in Porter and the Chesterton Kmart. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Funeral services, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19 at White-Love Funeral Home.
