Keith Alan Dykhuisen, 56, of Portage, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009
in Chicago, Ill.
He was born on April 23, 1953 in South Holland, Ill., the son of August and
Dolores (Stier) Dykhuisen.
Keith is survived by his mother, Dolores Dykhuisen Howard of Portage;
daughter, Becky Dykhuisen of Highland; brothers and sisters, Roxanne (James)
Yarbrough of Orlando, Fla., Peter (Karen) Dykhuisen of Noblesville, Joanne
Dykhuisen of Portage, and Sally (Keith) Zelenika of Chesterton; nieces and
nephews, including Kristine (Kim), Steven (Theresa), Christopher, Jake,
Josh, Kate, KJ and Anna; aunts and uncles; and many close friends from Bill
W.
He was preceded in death by his father, August Dykhuisen.
Keith was an area resident for 14 years and worked as a Painter and Tuck
Pointer. He was very active with AA and the Fifth Street Club and was a
veteran of the US Army.
Funeral services, Rev. Frederick Hoover officiating, will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday, May 18, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central
Ave., Portage. Cremation will be performed at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, May 17 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Dykhuisen family to benefit Rebecca’s college
