Jerilynn Williams dies at 66

Jerilynn Williams, age 66 of Chesterton, passed away on Monday September 21, 2009 at the VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.

She was born on October 13, 1942 in Valparaiso the daughter of Frank Burnett “Dooley” and LaVerne (Sippel) Groff, both of whom preceded her in death.

In 1961 she married Darrel Kash Williams, who also preceded her.

Jeri was the loving mother of five children; James Darrel (Jamie) Williams of Michigan City, Michael K. (Tracy) Williams of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Karen Lynn (Keith) Trinkle of Indianapolis, Tony Burnett Williams of Smyrna, Ga. and Renee’ (John) Cooper of Chesterton. She was also the loving grandmother of nine grandchildren, Christopher (Elizabeth), Melissa, Jessica, Tyler and Kash Williams, Brandon and Corey Williams and Ellen and Molly Cooper; great-grandmother to Ethan, Matthew, Hailey, Anthony, Jack, Isabella, David and Nicky.

Also surviving are her two sisters Karen Moton and Lila (David) Czizek along with many nieces and nephews. Her love for her children and grandchildren was manifested daily in the way she took care of them. She was an artist, a great cook and she loved playing games and having tea parties with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all whom her love touched.

A funeral service, Pastor Willliam Ledgerwood officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.

A visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, at the funeral home.
