Helen M. Jaeger, age 91, of Chesterton, passed away March 19, 2009.

She was born June 21, 1917 in Gary, the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Tumo) Szucs.

In 1936 Helen married Matthew Jaeger, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Margie (Keith) Fites of Chesterton; a son, Jerry (Julie) Jaeger of Wanatah,; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Bianchi; four sisters and two brothers.

She worked as a Green Thumb Helper for Michigan City Senior Center.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 20, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 6540 Central Ave., Portage.

Funeral Service, Pastor Frederick Hoover officiating, will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.

Arrangements are being handled through Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
