Eugene R. Winquist, Jr., 65, of Chesterton, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus.

He was born April 30, 1943 in Chicago the son of Eugene R. Winquist, Sr. and Edna (Norkiewicz) Winquist. His mother survives in Chesterton. His father preceded him in death.

On April 1, 2000 he married Pamela A. Boswell, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by three daughters, Jennifer Winquist (Robert Swanson) of Valparaiso, Amy (Ben) Terhune, of Pittsboro and Lori (Josh) Nixon, of Valparaiso; six grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Alec, Kobe, Moya and Max; a brother, Robert (Shirley) Winquist of Indiana and a sister, Diane (Bill) Wirth, of Michigan.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Winquist.

Gene was retired from Bethlehem Steel Co. where he was an electrician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and fishing.

Private family services will be held.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given to “Make A Wish Foundation”.
