Eleanor Marvel, 78, of Valparaiso, formerly of Chesterton, passed away
Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Valparaiso.
Eleanor was the only child of Heinrich and Sabina (Gross) Beyer.
She is survived by sons, Marty (Linda) Marvel of Valparaiso, Rod (Laurie)
Marvel of Valparaiso, and Scott (Cindy) Marvel of Wanatah; daughters, Donna
(Tim) Kohler of Valparaiso and Julie (Jamin) Dunivan of Valparaiso. She has
22 grandchildren and her fifth great-grandchild is on the way. She truly
loved her cousins and sister-in-laws; Rich (Barb) Gross, Joe (Anita) Gross,
Eric (Lee) Gross, Terry (Dick) Barrett and Fred (Elaine) Leidolph, Patsy
Berndt, Margie (Jim) Glassford and Peggy (Ron) Falatic.
Being a mother was her passion, a good friend to all those she met her
mission. She finished well in life and met those goals. She worked in
Chesterton at the Cable TV office for many years and also worked at Hoosier
Express Trucking in Westville. She was a Trojan Guard Mom, and from
1975-1988 traveled and cheered the band on.
Visitation and memories will be shared on Friday, May 8, from 4-8 p.m. at
Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in Chesterton.
A loving Memorial Service, which she wanted all to attend, will be held on
Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. at Liberty Bible Church, 824 N. Calumet Ave.,
Chesterton. Eleanor loved all the beautiful flowers she received during her
illness and requests that any donations in her memory be given to Kid's
Alive Intl., Our Daily Bread Devotional or Liberty Bible Church.
