Edward R. Carney, 64, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday,
February, 7, 2009 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso.
He was born December 31, 1944 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of
Thomas E. and Bessie Ellen (Dvorak) Carney, both of whom preceded him in
death.
He is survived by his wife Debra Carney-Murphy, of
Valparaiso; two sons, Robert Carney, of Las Vegas, Nev. and Chad Newmire, of
Valparaiso; a daughter, Shannan (Brian) Duncan, of Chesterton and one
granddaughter, LaSon Carney, of Valparaiso.
Ed was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the
American Legions Post #502, South Haven, Life Member of D.A.V. Chapter #35,
of Portage, and member of the Moose Lodge #960 in Ottawa, Ill. He was
employed at Bethlehem Steel (Mittal) in Building Maintenance with 41 years
service.
Funeral services, will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11 at
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd Street, Chesterton. Interment will
follow.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.
