Arthur L. Roberts of Chesterton passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009
in Valparaiso. He was 92.
He was born on July 23, 1917 in Quincy, Ind. On December 31, 1942 in Rolling
Prairie, Ind., he married Ruth L. (Wise) Roberts, who preceded him in death
on July 12, 2009.
He is survived by sons Larry Wayne Roberts (wife Carole) of Safety Harbor,
Fla., and Leonard Keith Roberts (Martha) of Messa, Ariz.; grandchildren
Sean, Erin, Jennifer, Tyson and Jessica; and great-grandchildren Alisa,
Brian, Jillian, Elliott and Erica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Price and Maude Mae (Baker)
Roberts; and sister, Beulah Mae Noble.
Arthur was an area resident since 1943, coming from Auburn, Ind. He worked
as a Turn Forman for US Steel Gary Works.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Pastor Barry
Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation
will be held on Tuesday, September 8 from 11 a.m. until the time of service
