William Crockett dies at 51

Chesterton resident William Roy Crockett, 51, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus.

He was born on March 22, 1957, in Muncie, Ind., the son of William W. and Betty Lou (Johns) Crockett.

On July 29, 1978, he married Victoria Anderson, who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are sons William (wife Kristen) Crockett of Noblesville, Ind., Patrick Crockett of Phoenix, Ariz., and Stephen Crockett of Chesterton; his mother Betty Lou Crockett of Montezuma, Ind., mother-in-law Doris Anderson of Chesterton, a brother, Charles (wife Rose) Crockett of Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren Alyssa and Aubrey; cousin Donald J. Fortner of Munster; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was CFO of the Swanson Center and a former member of the Duneland Exchange Club.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in Chesterton, with cremation at Heritage Crematory in Portage.

No services are scheduled.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
