Thomas J. 'TJ' Aruffo dies at 49

Thomas J. “T.J.” Aruffo, 49, of St. Petersburg, Fla. and formerly of Chesterton, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1958 in Drexel Hill, Pa., the son of A. John an Helen Aruffo, both of whom survive.

He also is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marie (Fordham) Aruffo and children Matthew and Meghan Aruffo, all of St. Petersburg.

Other family survivers include sisters Amy Spaeth, Holly Dunn and Jennifer Stiles; mother- and father-in-law William and Marie Fordham and their families.

TJ graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1982 and was a naval aviator for 14 years, after which time he held positions for several companies including Vice-President for Information Technology at NISOURCE. He was Chief Information Officer at Cott Corporation in Tampa, Florida most recently. TJ was an avid yachtsman and sailed many races in Lake Michigan including “The Mac” from Chicago to Macinac.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 6 at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 4-8 p.m. at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, Fla.
