Thomas C. “Tom” Slont, of Liberty Twp., died Monday, September 8, 2008 at St.
Anthony Memorial Medical Center, Michigan City.
He was born March 3, 1951 in Valparaiso, the son of Oliver and Mary Ann
Slont. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Michigan
City.
He is also survived by a son, Joseph A. Slont, of Liberty Twp.;
granddaughter, Ellee Slont; brother, Dale (Pamela) Slont, of Phoenix, Ariz.;
nephew Colton and niece Brittany.
He was preceded also in death by his son Tom Slont.
Tom was a lifelong resident and farmer in Liberty Twp. He was a 1969 graduate
of Liberty Twp. High School, which was the last graduating class of the high
school. He retired from Local #150 Operating Engineers, and plant Supervisor
for K-5 Construction Corp.
Funeral services, Pastor Erik Bernth officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Friday,
Sept. 12 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St., Chesterton. Interment
will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 and from 10
a.m. until time of service Friday at White-Love Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the Kidney Foundation or to the charity of the
donor’s choice.
