Barbara Marie Harrigan Jones died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 in Leesburg, Fla. She was 82.

Born on July 28, 1926 in the Methodist Hospital in Gary, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Bodner) Harrigan, who preceded her in death. On August 23, 1947 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chesterton, she married  Amiel Jones.

She is survived by children William Jones of Chesterton and Janine Jones (husband Yonnie Siefert) of Leesburg; special family member Sue Jones; grandchildren Amber Jones of Leesburg, Michael Jones (wife Stephanie) of Kouts, and Jennifer Wright (Eric) of Terre Haute; great-grandchild Nathan Wright of Terre Haute; many nieces, nephews and even more friends, as well as her church family at St Patrick’s Catholic Church of Mt. Dora.

Barb did not know a stranger. She  was a member of the Scottish Highlands Choir.

 A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Mt. Dora. Entombment will follow the services in Florida National Cemetery.  Friends and family may call on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg from 4 to 6 p.m. with a parish vigil at 5 p.m. www.pagetheusfuneralhome.com
