Rodney P. Collins dies at 76

Rodney P. Collins age 76 of Lafayette, formerly of Chesterton, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, after a short illness.

He was born on October 7, 1931 the son of Amos and Isabelle (Pomeroy) Collins both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by two brothers, Leroy (Evanna) Collins and Richard (Frances) Collins of Chesterton; sister-in-law, Ann Collins of Valparaiso and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers Eugene and Robert Collins, two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” and Lillian “Sue” Vitoux and brothers-in-law Howard and Raymond Vitoux.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

There will be no visitation, cremation will be at Heritage Creamatory, Portage. There will be a Memorial service at a later date.
