Mitchell “Mitch” Bobrowski, age 83, of Chesterton, passed away Sunday,
October 12, 2008 in Valparaiso.
He was born August 11, 1925 in Gary (Tolleston).
On August 9, 1952 in Chesterton, he married Martha R. Michaels, who survives
in Chesterton.
He is also survived by a son, M. Wayne (Mary) Bobrowski of North Little Rock,
Ark.; daughter, Linda (Michael) Appelman of Chesterton; brother, Robert
(Gloria) Muraco; sisters, Helen (Don) Huddleston, Dorothy (Jerry) Johnson and
Thelma Ondras; sisters-in-law, Margaret Bobrowski, Barbara Bobrowski and
Marge Moraco; grandchildren, Shaun Appelman of Ariz.; Shallamar Appelman of
Fla.; Douglas Bobrowski of Wis., Andrew Bobrowski of S.C., James Carroll of
Ark. and Jennifer Carroll of Ark.; great-grandchild, Oihanna Bobrowski, and
several nieces and nephews.
Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Tony Bobrowski; mother, Helen
(Idizor) Muraco; brothers, Anthony Bobrowski, Lindy Bobrowski, Mike Moraco
and Joe Moraco.
Mitch was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Patrick Catholic
Church in Chesterton. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving as a mechanic
during World War II. Mitch formerly worked at US Steel. He was an avid
fisherman, loved to farm and enjoyed gardening and mechanics.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday, October 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd.
Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with a Rosary at 6 p.m.
