Max L. Robbins, age 81, of Portage, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008.
Max was born on September 16, 1927 to the late Max Cunningham and Tressa (Bedwell)
Robbins in Gary.
He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived
by his wife, Ruby (Clement) Robbins of Portage; son, Max L. (Jocelyn) Robbins
II of Portage; daughter, Joy (Barry) Deckard of Portage; brothers, Bert (Dayle)
Robbins of Muncie, Richard Robbins of Miami, Fla., Danny (Pat) Robbins of Las
Vegas, Nev., Tom (Mona) Robbins of Porter, and David (Judy) Robbins of
Michigan City; grandchildren, Jodie (Terry) Wasieleski, Jordan Deckard, Luke
Deckard, Betsy Robbins, Emily Robbins, Kelly Robbins, Dominique and Aaron
Rattunde.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jill Robbins; brothers, Rex
Robbins and Barney Robbins and two sisters.
Max worked as an Assistant Superintendant at U.S. Steel Tubeworks in the
accounting department and served in thr U.S. Army. He was an avid golfer and
bowler.
Funeral Services, Bishop Dale P. Combs officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Friday, October 24 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941
Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368. Interment will follow at Calumet Park
Cemetery Merrillville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, October 23 at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home Portage Chapel.
