Mable L. Weaver dies at 89

Mable L. Weaver, of Liberty Twp., passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus. She was 89.

She was born May 5, 1919 in Velpen, Ind. the daughter of Sylvester and Sophia (Wilkey) Offill, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her husbands John Blevins and Lester Weaver.

Mable is survived by six daughters, Janie Oelschlager, of Boubonnois, Ill., Carole (Warren) Graves, of Pontiac, Ill., Sharon Alexander, of Liberty Twp., Margaret Mathas, of Liberty Twp., Annie (Larry) Stone of Knox City, Mo., Jackie (Mike) Westra, of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Gwen Edward, of Pontiac, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Pentice, Mitchell, Gilbert and Herschel Offill.

Mable was a homemaker and was a member of Sand Ridge United Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday School.

Funeral services, Catherine A. Allison officiating, will be at noon Friday, Aug. 15 at White-Love Funeral-Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service at noon, Friday.

Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
