Loretta L. McNutt (nee Sanders), formerly of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed
away Thursday, December 18, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. She was 78
years old.
She was born December 17, 1930 in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Freda
and Charles Sanders.
She was married to Troy McNutt, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was
also preceded in death by her two daughters, Diana S. Chau and Deborah L.
Hake.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Dana (Johnnie) Hall of Michigan City,
Chris (Jaime) Chau of Fort Wayne, Kim (Rick) Burton, Tammy (Larry) Reibly,
both of Chesterton, and great-grandchildren, Maddox and Diana Chau, Corey,
Riley and Anna Burton and Ava and Hilary Reibly.
Loretta was an avid traveler, enjoying the warm weather of Southern Texas
and Mexico for most winters. She worked as a nurse for many years until she
gave up her career to become the nurse to her family and ill loved ones. She
enjoyed being a homemaker and cooking for family and friends.
A celebration of Loretta’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 3,
at Westport Community Center, Burns Harbor. Arrangements are under the
direction of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery in Little Rock, Ark.
Donations may be made to the VNA Hospice Center of Porter County.
