Lee Greely 'Ted' Cox III dies at 55

Lee Greely “Ted” Cox III, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008 in Chesterton. He was 55.

He was born May 15, 1953 in Rockford, Ill. the son of Lee Greely Cox II and Audrey (Creviston) Cox, both of whom preceded him in death.

Ted is survived by three daughters, Jaimie Knudson, of Michigan City, Julia (Nick) Good, of Kingsford Heights and Lorissa Cox of Chesterton; eight grandchildren, Robbie Murphy, Michael Thos, Gillian Knudson, Erica Knudson, Seth Good, Mason Good, Lela Good and expecting grandchild #8 in March; two sisters, Patsy Goebel and Sonja Swanson.

Ted was employed as a truck driver for 30 years. He was a 30+ year member of Local #710. He received two One Million Mile (individual) awards; was a life-long Bears fan, life member of the North American Fishing Club and was a partner in the ownership of Gratty’s Bar & Grill in Michigan City.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at White-Love Funeral Home.
