Judith Ann DePriest, age 65, of Burns Harbor, passed away Thursday, September
18, 2008 in Valparaiso.
She was born on February 8, 1943 in Hammond, the daughter of Roy and Marian
(Baker) Mills, both of whom preceded her in death.
On October 3, 1995 in Valparaiso, she married Freddy A. DePriest, who
survives in Burns Harbor.
She is also survived by children, April C. Flores of Chesterton, Lisa D.
Smith of Valparaiso, Michael R. (Nora) Sawyer of Las Vegas, Nev., and Candace
J. (James) Smith of Portage; step children, Andrea M. DePriest of Wilcox, and
Brian A. (Kellie) DePriest of Niles, Mich.; brothers, Wayne R. Mills of
Hammond, and Jerald (Roberta) Mills of Branson, Mo.; grandchildren, Erica,
Maria and Leroy Flores, Tiffany Gionson, Toni Smith, Kari Sue Sawyer, and
Katina and Killian Kidd; six step grandchildren; and seven great
grandchildren.
Judith was a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana. She loved to play bingo
and enjoyed spending time with her family. She retired from Leroy’s, where
she worked as the Bar Manager.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will be at Heritage
Crematory, Portage.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.
