John E. Zane dies at 44

John E. Zane, of Knox, formerly of Chesterton, passed away Friday March 28, 2008 at his home. He was 44.

He was born July 17, 1963 in East Chicago, Ind., the son of Leslie and Ina (Gast) Zane.

He is survived by two daughters, Deztany (Bernard) Breese, of Portage and Christinia (Frank) Emmart, of Portage; mother, Ina (Guy) Alexander, of S.D.; grandchildren, Bernard, Zane, Wezley, Jadelyn, Alanis and Alyia; fiancee, Valerie Hawes, of Chesterton; two sisters, Angela (Tash) Munce, of S.D. and Sharee (Matt) Ellis, of S.D.; brother, Larry (Marti) Jandreau, of S.D., many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Mark Zane.

John was a graduate of Chesterton High School. He was employed as a laborer (Iron Worker). He was a member of Order of Boy Scouts, NRA and Honkey Tonk Bar Association.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3 from White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in John’s name to the family.
