James A. Siewert, of Chesterton, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2008 at University of Chicago Hospital. He was 52.

He was born March 31, 1956 in Valparaiso, the son of Elmer and Ann Siewert. His father preceded him in death in 1982 and his mother survives in Sarasota, Fla.

He is also survived by two brothers, John (Bernatte) Siewert, of Valparaiso and Michael Siewert of Sarasota, Fla.

Jim was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #170 Chesterton. He was retired from Local #81, Laborer’s Union and was an avid race car fan of Jeff Gordon #24.

Funeral services, Pastor Katie Lindberg officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
