Jacint L. Calderazzo, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, September 12, 2008
in Chicago. He was 88.
He was born April 30, 1920 in Vandergrift, Pa., the son of Eugene C. and
Carmen (Ceraso) Calderazzo, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughters, Barbara (Michael) Klumpe of Valparaiso, Carmine
Calderazzo of Valparaiso, Janie Calderazzo of Wheeling, Ill.; grandchildren,
Ryan (Trisha) Dykes, Samantha Dykes, Amy (Tom) Hubbard, Alexandra Diaz,
Byron, Max, George and Richard Douglas; a sister, Gloria Calderazzo, of
Vandergrift, Pa. and fiancé, Lillian Beattie.
He was also preceded in death by first wife and mother of children, Joan
Calderazzo; second wife, Nancy Calderazzo and sister, Doris Gene Intrieri.
Jacint was a resident of Valparaiso since early 1961. He was a former
Pennsylvania state police officer for 10 years, and retired Superintendent of
Security for National Midwest Steel Co. He was a member of St. Teresa of
Avila, Valparaiso, a member of American Legion Post 94 of Valparaiso and
former member of the Elks Lodge #500 and the Eagles Lodge of Valparaiso.
A funeral mass, the Rev. Kevin McCarthy officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 17 at St. Teresa of Avila, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso.
Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 16 at Dykes Funeral Home,
2305 N. Campbell St.
