Helen Barringer Willard of Ogden Dunes died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2008. She was 73.

Born Oct. 19, 1934, she was preceded in death by  her husband, Jack G. Willard, who died December 7, 2006. 

She is survived by her daughter, Kristin; grand daughter, Annabella; brother, Barry Barringer; nieces and nephews Margaret West and Elizabeth, William and Tony Rodgers; and cousins Ron, Robert, and Greg Pyke and Richard Wylie. 

A graduate of Horace Mann High School and Indiana University, Helen taught first grade in the Gary Public Schools for 40 years. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Rev.
