Gladys J. Jones, of Chesterton, passed away Wednesday evening, July 9, 2008
at The Waters of Duneland, Chesterton. She was 95.
She was born May 18, 1913 in Clinton, the daughter of Claude and Jessie (McKey)
Gossett, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Carolyn) Jones and David (Dorothy)
Jones, both of Chesterton; six grandchildren, Holly (Kent) Mishler, of
Chesterton, Scott (Cathy) Jones of Valparaiso, Craig (Rachel) Jones of
Chesterton and Vera Jones of Chesterton, Amy (Dan) Schausfelberger of
LaGrange Park, Ill., Beth (West) York, of Chesterton; 12 great-grandchildren,
Matt and Laura Mishler, Adam, Owen and Colin Schausfelberger, Macey, Grahm
and Bridgette Jones, Elizabeth, David, Paul and Jason Jones.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Herbert and Frank Gossett
and a sister, Grace Jenkins.
Gladys was a graduate of Clinton High School, Clinton, Ind. She was a member
of Royal Neighbors of America and a former member of Crocker Bible Church.
She was employed at Talos Manufacturing and Electra-Seal, with 30 years
service. She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting and loved her cats and dogs.
A Memorial service, David Jones officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July
15 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment of
cremains will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of memorial
service at White-Love Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the local Meals on Wheels program (St. John’s
United Church) or VNA Hospice Program, 501 Marquette St. Valparaiso, IN
46383.
