Life long resident of Chesterton, Genevieve (Jean) Collins
87, passed away peacefully in New Port Richey, Florida on November 8, 2008,
after a brief illness.
Survivors
include, daughters Judith Melton, Janie Pedone (Monte) and Helen Burkhart-
Cristofori - all of Florida.
Also
surviving are the grandchildren: Marie Moore, Gina Partos, Christine Pedone,
Karen Pedone, Diane Parker, Stephanie Mann, Elizabeth Mitsakos, Kara Deperno,
Alexis Burkhart, Genevieve Burkhart and Tyler Cristofori, great grand
children, Kelsey Moore, Darby Moore, Michael Partos, Kayla Parker, Dylan
Parker, Isabella Rose Simpson, Alexander and Zachary Mitsakos and Domonick
Deperno.
Genevieve
also leaves behind her good friends Annie Gerasch and Sherry Phillips.
Father Terry Bennis, Father James Meade and Deacon Nick Jurasevich brought
much joy to Genevieve’s life by their frequent visits to her home in Porter.
She was pre-deceased by her
husband of 42 years, Thomas Collins; parents Roman and Helen Nadratowski;
brothers John, Walter, Henry, Anthony, Edward; sisters Cecilia, Emily,
Evelyn, Eleanor, Lorraine and grandson Mark Miller.
Genevieve was a long
standing member of St. Patrick Church. Genevieve was instrumental in the
founding of Dunes Fellowship House in Michigan City, Indiana where she
affected the lives of many people. She was a homemaker.
Services
were held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in New Port Richey on November 11,
2008.
