Dianne L. Arnold, of Porter, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 21, 2008. She was 57.

She was born on March 7, 1951 in Jasper, Ala. to George and Mardi (Ballenger) Phillips. She is survived by her mother, Mardi Phillips of Chesterton. She was preceded in death by her father, George Phillips.

She was married on July 25, 1970 in Valparaiso, to Samuel D. Arnold, who survives in Porter.

Dianne is also survived by a daughter, Tracy (Mark) Melton of Chesterton; brothers, Larry Phillips of Sumiton, Ala. and Randy (Debbie) Phillips of Chesterton; sisters, Georgia (Jerry) Soliday of Wanatah, Susan Marton of Sumiton, Ala. and Ginnie Chiaro of Chesterton; grandson, Seth Melton of Chesterton; mother in law, Evelyn Hill; special friend, Mary Mantag of Chesterton; and many nieces and nephews.

Dianne was an area resident for 47 years, coming from Alabama. She attended New Life Wesleyan Church in Chesterton, was a member of the Women of the Moose Chesterton Lodge, and worked as a bus aide for the Duneland School Corp.

Funeral services, Rev. Mike Cloud officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the funeral home.
