Diane Wheat, of Porter, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008. She was 54.

She was born June 30, 1953 in Gary, the daughter of Fred and Audrey (Anderson) Duzan.

She is survived by her mother, Audrey Duzan of Portage; husband Jerry Wheat of Porter; children, Shawn and Angie McCormick of South Haven, Shanan (nee Dease) and Brad Batson of Eagle Creek, Ore., Jason Wheat and Patti Burtless of Porter, Joni Wheat of Chicago; sisters, Bonnie Powell of S.C., Anita Phelps of Hammond and Lorraine Rempis of Hammond; grandchildren, Jake and Luke McCormick of South Haven, Willow and Elora Batson of Eagle Creek, Ore., Nick Burtless and Breanna Wheat of Porter. Special thanks to Mary Bonner and Lois McDonald, mom loved you both dearly.

A memorial visitation will be Tuesday, June 10 from 3 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will be handled by Heritage Crematory, Portage. www.ee-fh.com
