David B. Coslet, a lifelong resident of Porter, passed away May 2, 2008. He
was 51.
He was born Feb. 14, 1957 the son of William and Ethel (Sievert) Coslet.
David is survived by his wife of 28 years, Michelle Coslet (nee LaVelle),
loving daughters Codi Coslet, age 17, and Kelsi Coslet, age 15, all of
Porter.
Also surviving are brothers, Donald (Linda) Coslet of Chesterton, Dan (Cindy)
Coslet of Pa.; sisters, Donna (David) Scott of S. C., Diane Diakis of
LaPorte, Deborah (William) Robertson of S. C. and Delores Sutton of Portage;
18 nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews. Also, survived in
love by the LaVelle Family.
David was a 1975 graduate of Chesterton High School. David was a member of
Steelworkers Local 6787 and was employed by the Burns Harbor plant as a
machinist for 31 years. He was a loyal fan of Notre Dame and the Chicago
Cubs. He was a bowler for many years and shared his passion for the sport
with his daughters.
David was a father first and foremost. The love and support of his girls is
truly immeasurable. The encouragement from both David and Michelle is
substantiated by Codi and Kelsi’s interests and numerous accomplishments. The
girls are heartbroken by the loss of their father. They love him very much
and will miss his influence in everything they do. Cremation will take place
at Heritage Crematory.
A Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of
service at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Memorials for David may be made to the family in the name of Michelle Coslet
