Darrell E. Leicht, age 78, of Valparaiso passed away suddenly Saturday, November 22, 2008 in Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus.

He was born October 29, 1930 in Kokomo, the son of the late Charles and Goldie Leicht.

He is survived by three children Douglas (Karry) Leicht of Porter, Christopher Leicht of Valparaiso, and Lila Hoffman of Valparaiso, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte in 1999, his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

He retired from LTV steel with over 38 years of service.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 W. Broadway, Chesterton. Entombment will follow in Graceland Mausoleum in Valparaiso. 

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 - 11 am.
