Carl R. Boatright of Porter, passed away Tuesday April 29, 2008 at his
residence. He was 65.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1942 in Hammond, the son or Carl and Pebble
(Thompson) Boatright, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Boatright of Porter; sisters, Wanda
L. Hayes of Thayer, and Beverly M. (Tony) Iorio of Carlsbad, Calif.; also
numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl worked at Bethlehem Steel retiring in 2003 after 38 years service. Carl
was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and a member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge
1623, the Steelworkers Union 6787 and had over 200 hours as a private pilot.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday May 1, with visitation Thursday
from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home,
517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Memorials for Carl may be made to the American Cancer Society.
