Anna M. McWhinney, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in Valparaiso. She was 99. She was born on May 21, 1908 in Chicago, the daughter of Andrew and Jennie (Vander Bos) Thompson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to William W. McWhinney, who preceded her in death in Aug. 1992. Anna is survived by sons, William R. McWhinney of Rolling Meadows, Ill. and Wayne A. (Arlene) McWhinney of Clarksville, Ga.; grandsons, William Paul (Susan) McWhinney and Phillip Wayne McWhinney; and great grandchild, Shaun McWhinney. She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Thompson and a sister, Jeanette Olson. Anna was an area resident since 1957, coming from Chicago. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, March 30, at the funeral home.
