Former Chesterton resident David Martin Skibo of Naperville, Ill., died
suddenly Thursday, June 21, 2007. He was 24.
He is survived by parents Kerry and Lawrence Skibo; brother and best friend
Larry, Jr.; grandmother Joyce Skibo; grandparents Sue and H. Fred Miller; and
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a talented artist, writer, musician and film maker. A graduate of
Westwood College, he was finishing a multimedia degree at the Illinois Art
Institute. He leaves behind many close friends he made along the way and will
be remembered as caring, loyal, and one of those special friends who walks in
when the rest of the world walks out.
A memorial gathering was held at the family’s home on June 23 and 24.
Cremation was private.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Art Institute in David’s name or to Old
Second Bank, Brandon Novak Fund, of Naperville. Brandon, a close friend of
David’s, suffers from spinal cancer and has endured chemotherapy, radiation
and surgery but has no medical insurance.
