Chesterton resident Robert M. Pauli died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at the
Whispering Pines Health Care Center in Valparaiso. He was 90.
Born on Jan. 7, 1917 in New Kensington, Pa., he was the son of Julia Polcyn.
On Dec. 18, 1946, he married Roberta Reimer Pauli, who survives in
Chesterton.
Also surviving are son Richard Pauli (wife Rosemary Hartigan-Pauli) of
Overland Park, Kansas; and daughter Linda Pauli of Chesterton. In addition to
his mother, he was preceded in death by brothers Charles and Leyden Pauli.
He was a quartermaster in charge of ordering materials for Alcoa Aluminum. A
member of the 1st Christian Disciples of Christ, he was a member of the Men’s
Fellowship Bible Study at his church and was an assistant scout master. He
enjoyed woodworking, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling.
A private family service is planned, with Rev. Jim Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery. A memorial service to be held at a
later date will be announced. Memorials may be made to the American Heart
Association.
