Mildred 'Millie' Pratt dies at 81

Mildred R. “Millie” Pratt, of Liberty Twp., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 in Liberty Twp. She was 81.

She was born May 6, 1925 in Gary, the daughter of Marko and Katherine (Perkovich) Rajkovich, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Oct. 29, 1949 in Gary, she married Edwin E. Pratt, who preceded her in death April 22, 2006. They were married 55+ years.

She is survived by sons, Ronald (Tammy) Pratt of Michigan City and Mark (Cathie) Pratt of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a daughter, Lori (John) Rosetti of Chesterton; brothers-in law, Donald Pratt of Chesterton and Jack Curley; a sister-in-law, Iris Pratt, of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Zachary and Hannah Pratt, Scott, Joanna and Richard Rosetti, Michael Amanda and Lauren Pratt; great-grandchild, Gabriel Rosetti and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mary (Joe) d’Mura, Margaret (Jack) Landes, Katherine (Tom) Kotulak and Olga (Jack) Curley.

Millie’s love for life was evident by her constant smile and quick laugh. She will be sadly missed. She was a member of a senior bowling group from Camelot Lanes.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Lawrence Heeg officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday with Wake service at 7:30 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

Memorials may be made to the Porter Volunteer Fire Department.
