Liudas Ancerys, of Porter, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 19, 2007, at his
home. He was 85.
He was born Aug. 25, 1921 in Grinkiskis, Lithuania, the son of Vincas and
Ona (Kasperunaite) Ancerevicius, both of whom preceded him in death.
On April 24, 1948 in Kassel, Germany, he married Irena Zuroskyte Ancerys,
who survives in Porter.
He is also survived by a daughter, Sabina Ancerys, of Porter; a son, Henry
Ancerys, of Calif. and two sisters in Lithuania.
Liudas was retired from U.S. Steel, Gary Works where he was an electrician
with 33 years service. An avid fisherman, he won numerous trophies through
the Northwest Indiana Steelheaders, where he was a member.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will be at Calvary
Crematory, Portage.
Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd
