Kalliope E. Skoulos, 92, of Valparaiso, formerly of East Chicago, passed away
Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center.
She was born Nov. 22, 1915 in Piles, Karpathos, Greece to Elias and Fotini (Karatinos)
Eliadou.
In 1946 in Piles, Karpathos, Greece she married Emanuel Skoulos who preceded
her in death in 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Fotini (Nick) Pahos of Valparaiso, Maria
(George) Georgiadis of Mahwah, N.J.; five grandchildren, John (Dana) Pahos,
Mark Pahos, and Kalliope, Evie and Nicole Georgiadis; and one great-grandson,
Nicholas Pahos.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maria Pahoulis and Zina
Papagianis.
She was a member of St. Iakovos Greek Orthodox Church in Valparaiso and a
former member of the Karpathian Society of Chicago. A devoted wife, mother
and grandmother, she enjoyed gardening, needle work, crochet and cooking.
Private funeral services will be held, the Rev. James Greanias officiating,
with interment at Chesterton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Iakovos Greek Orthodox Church
Building Fund.
