Joelin Hunter dies at 50

Joelin T. Hunter, of Chesterton, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 24, 2007 in her home. She was 50.

She was born Oct. 13, 1956 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Don and Barbara (Phegley) Johnston, both of whom preceded her in death.

In 1990 in Chesterton, she married Kevin Hunter, who survives.

She is also survived by three brothers, Tim Johnston, of Austin, Texas, Ted Johnston, Todd Johnston, both of Buckhead, Ga.; mother-in-law, Inez Zane, of Porter; nieces and nephews, Dane Lafata, Evan Lafata and Ciara Lafata, Sara Hunter, Stacy Hunter, Amanda Autrey, Kyle Autrey, Cynthia Hunter and Emma Johnston; great-niece, Charis Lafata and many loyal and loving friends also survive.

Joelin, a graduate of Purdue University, was a former grade school teacher at Holy Angels School in Gary, and more recently was a clerk at Pat’s Liquors in Porter. She enjoyed horseshoe pitching and bowling.

Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at the White-Love funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation Saturday from 2 p.m. until time of service. Cremation will precede services.

Memorials in Joelin’s memory are preferred to the family.
