Joan Hall-Barbee of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Chesterton, passed away
Monday, June 4, 2007 at VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 45.
She was born March 3, 1962 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Charles W. Hall Sr.
and Nola Jane (Watkins) Hall, both of whom survive in Chesterton.
She is survived by fiancé, Gary Meyer, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
She is also survived by a daughter, Alisha Hall (Michael Angarita) of Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Charles W. (Charlene) Hall Jr. of Chesterton;
two sisters, Karla Jean (Kenneth) Biesboer of Chesterton and Rochelle (Lowell
“Butch”) Hawkins of Chesterton; two grandchildren, Jarad Markus Hall and
Shyenne Lillie Angarita.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Curtis Fulton of Michigan City,
Stephanie Hall of Michigan City, Nicole (Jason) Maloney of Chesterton,
Charles Hall of Michigan City, Chad Hall of Chesterton, Tamara Morales of
Valparaiso and several great nieces and nephews.
Joan was employed as a supervisor/communications for Imperial Point Medical
Center, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. She was a member of Lighthouse Christian Center.
She was manager of Sunlight Stone Company, a Board Member of Broward County
Commission, President of Home Owners Association/Lofts of Palmarie. She was a
volunteer and worked for Children’s Cancer Christmas Fund.
A funeral service, Pastor Toni Goin officiating, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday,
June 7 at Lighthouse Christian Center, 521 W. 1100N, Chesterton. Cremation
will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. at
Lighthouse Christian Center, Chesterton.
Memorials may be made to Nola Hall for Joan’s grandchildren’s college funds.
