Jeanette H. (Bair) Pemberton, 74, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007.

She was born Feb. 21, 1933 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Russell and Pearl (Wheeler) Baker, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Jan. 11, 2003 she married Thomas M. Pemberton, who survives.

She is also survived by a daughter, Becky Graham of Chesterton; two step-children, Cindy (Jim) and Tommy E.; five grandchildren, Jenny, Billy, Beth, Rick and Angie; three great-grandchildren, Skylar, Hannah and Billy, Jr.; a brother, Russell Chester of Valparaiso and a step-mother Ann Chester.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Art Bair in 2000, a step daughter Patty (Rick); two brothers, Bill and Sam Baker and a sister Jeanie Reid.

Jeanette was a home maker and a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Portage. She was “Grandma” to a lot of people throughout Valparaiso and Chesterton.

Funeral services, Don Good officiating, will be at Noon Thursday, May 10 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso. Interment will be in Adams Cemetery in Morgan Twp.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. - Noon Thursday at the funeral home.
