Irma Sue Castle, 59, of rural Lagro, formerly of Wabash and of Chesterton,
passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at 8:33 a.m. at the Visiting Nurse and
Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born July 25, 1947 in Wheelwright, Ky., the daughter of Logan and
Helen (Collins) Hill.
She is survived by two sons, David Vaughn Crow of Dayton, Ohio and
Christopher Miller of Chesterton; a granddaughter, Kendra Kalene Miller of
Chesterton; two step-daughters, Caron (Michael) DeBoard of Morris, Ill. and
Cynthia (Phillip) Pledger of Yucaipa, Calif.; two step-sons, Craig
(Stephanie) Castle of Portage and Curtis (Amy) Castle of Nashville, Tenn.;
10 step-grandchildren, Amanda DeBoard of Morris, Ill., Rachel Pledger of
Yucaipa, Calif., Sydney Castle of Portage, Ashley and Emily Castle of
Nashville, Tenn., Adam DeBoard of Morris, Ill., Andrew Pledger of Yucaipa,
Calif., Christopher Castle of Portage, Allen and Ian Castle of Nashville,
Tenn.
Also, four sisters, Mary Daniel of Lagro, Sandra Powers, Shirley Hall and
Susan Hill, all of Paintsville, Ky.; a brother, Roger (Tish) Hill of Thelma,
Ky.; step-father, Alvin Hill of Thelma, Ky.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, J.T. Hill, Astor Hill and James
Hill and a sister, Avis Spears.
Irma attended Wabash Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church. She moved to
Chesterton from Wabash in 1980 and lived here until 2006, when she returned
to Wabash County. She was the store manager at the Broadway Video store in
Chesterton.
Funeral services, Pastor Doug Phillips officiating, were Monday, Jan. 15 at
Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church, 129 Southwood Dr., Wabash. Entombment was
in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
Arrangements were handled by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241
Manchester, Ave., Wabash.
