Harold H. Landwer, of LaPorte, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Friday, April 27,
2007, at his home. He was 87.
He was born Nov. 26, 1919 in LaPorte the son of Benjamin and Lillie (Wilmer)
Landwer, both of whom preceded him in death.
On Aug. 14, 1949 in Chesterton, he married Ruby Lafving, who survives in
LaPorte.
He is also survived by two daughters, Jaclyn M. Voss, of Granger and Janet L.
Wait, of Lebanon, Ind., four grandchildren, Marjorie, Ben, Kevin and David;
one brother, Lambert Landwer of Indianapolis.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, June C. Landwer; a brother,
Wilmer Landwer and a sister, Ruth Landwer.
Harold was a life-long farmer, and retired as a school bus driver for New
Prairie Schools, where he drove for 28 years.
Graveside services, Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday, May 3 at Chesterton Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to Bethany Lutheran
Church of LaPorte.
Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd
St., Chesterton.
