Franklin Delano Michl of Westville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 in
Valparaiso. He was 71.
He was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Oblong, Ill. the son of Henry G. and Clara J.
(Geiger) Michl, who preceded him in death.
On June 1, 1957 in Newton, Ill., he married Elizabeth R. Rudolphi, his one
true love, who survives.
He is also survived by his children, Gregory (Ofelia) Michl of Westville,
Gail (Robert) Zalud of Valparaiso, Kenneth Michl of Westville, Connie Michl
of Chesterton, Karen (Paul) Zorick of Valparaiso, Nancy (Steven) Taylor of
Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Henry, Christopher,
Charles, Bobby, Rachel, Lina, Kaylee, Eric, Kenyon, Rukiya, Kalina and three
great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Christopher, Kiley and his brother, Grover
Cleveland (Marilyn) Michl of Oblong, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane.
Franklin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis. He was a plumbing
contractor, owning and operating Michl Plumbing for approximately 20 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Charles Pratt American
Legion Post #94 in Valparaiso and Eagles Lodge #2517 in Valparaiso.
A funeral mass, Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Monday,
Jan. 15 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis. Prayers will be said at the
funeral home at 9:30 a.m. before procession to church. Interment will be in
St. Mary Cemetery in Otis.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W.
Walnut St., Westville.
