Donald “Butch” Joseph DuVall, of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21,
2007 at his residence. He was 67.
He was born Sept. 25, 1939 in Monroe, Mich., the son of Norman Joseph and
Olive Esther (Jones) DuVall, both of whom preceded him in death.
On Nov. 12, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio, he married Barbara Mansfield, who survives
in Chesterton.
He is also survived by a son, Donald Joseph (Amanda) DuVall, Jr. of Porter;
daughters, Teri (James) Moore of Chesterton and Margaret (E.J.) Calhoon of
Gas City; sister-in-law, Sharon DuVall of LaSalle, Mich.; brother-in-law,
Guy (Judy) Mansfield Jr. of Temperance, Mich.; five grandchildren, Eric and
Chad DuVall, Zachary and Elijah Calhoon and Ashley Fisher; nieces and
nephews, Ann (Dan) Oulette, John (Jackie) DuVall, Jaylene Mansfield and
several great nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Norman DuVall.
Butch was a dispatcher for Area Transportation of Munster. He was a member
of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a Lecture
and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Catholic Church and a RCIA (Rite
Christian Initiation for Adults) program participant and sponsor.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday, Jan. 25 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd.,
Chesterton. Cremation with interment of ashes will be at a later date at St.
Patrick Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., with a Wake service at 7:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway,
Chesterton.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
