Craig C. Fouts, 71, of West Lafayette, Ind. and Gulf Shores, Ala. died
Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at Home Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born in Logansport, Ind. March 26, 1935 to Castyle N. Fouts and
Mildred (Craig) Fouts Shanks, both of whom preceded him in death.
On March 22, 1958 in Battle Ground, Ind., he married Janice Orrell, who
survives.
He is also survived by a son; Craig C. Fouts, II (Betsy) of Chesterton; a
daughter; Andrea Fouts Olsen (Eric) of Willow Park, Texas, and two brothers;
Jerry Fouts ( Peggy) of Salem, SC, and C.N. Fouts (Lynn) of Rockville, MD.;
four grandchildren; Peter, Craig III, Andrew, and Christopher Fouts.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Fouts and step-father,
J.F. Shanks.
Craig was raised in Deer Creek, IN and had previously resided in Carroll and
Hendricks Counties. He was a 1953 graduate of Flora High School in Flora, IN
and he attended Purdue and Butler Universities. He worked as a Supervisor
and Engineering Coordinator at Eli Lilly in Lafayette for 40 years, retiring
in 1993. He was a lifelong member of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church and also
attended Bethel Christian Life Center. He was a Company Commander with the
Indiana National Guard in Delphi, IN and Monticello, IN. He was a member of
the Lions Club and enjoyed playing golf.
Memorial Service, Pastor Ted Brust officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at
Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th St., Lafayette.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Hippensteel Funeral
Home.
Memorials may be given to Salvation Army and/or Bethel Christian Center Food
Pantry.
