Constance “Connie” Bemis, 58, of Westville, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte.

She was born July 8, 1948 in Hammond, the daughter of Ralph Hisey, who preceded her in death and Martha (Rockwalik) Hisey, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Stidham of Westville and Crystal (Jim) Vowell of LaPorte, eight grandchildren, two step-sons, Danny (Sue) Bemis and Troy Bemis both of Terre Haute; a sister, Linda (Ron) Yager of Chesterton and two brothers, Kent (Nancy) Hisey of Portage and Ralph Hisey of Westville.

Connie loved to play softball in her younger days, bowling prior to her retirement and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was an assembler at Cooper Industries in Michigan City from which she retired in 1997.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Newhard Funeral Home in Westville.
