Carl R. Roeske, 82, of Boone Grove, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at
Valparaiso Care and Rehab.
He was born, May 8, 1924 in Palos Park, Ill., the son of Reinhold and Emily
(Sonnenberg) Roeske, both of whom preceded him in death.
On Sept. 6, 1952 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in McCool, he married
Phyllis Schlobohm, who survives.
He is also survived by four sons, Brian (Sharon) Roeske of Boone Grove, Dave
(Pam) Roeske of Batavia, Ill., Mike (Sophie) Roeske of Chesterton and Ron
(Carole) Roeske of Boone Grove; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
one brother, Edwin (Jean) Roeske of Boone Grove; two sisters, Gertrude Wood
of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Lois Lottes of Crown Point.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herb and Bill and one sister,
Alice Anderson.
Carl lived most of his life in Boone Grove and graduated from Boone Grove
High School in 1942. He had been a long-time farmer and school bus driver in
Boone Grove, was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kouts, enjoyed
pinochle and was a die-hard Cubs fan.
A funeral service, Rev. Robert Hauter officiating, will be at 10:30 a.m.,
Saturday, March 31 at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. Interment will be at
McCool Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, one hour prior to the
service.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Parkinson’s Foundation.
