Calvin L. Dille dies at 88

Calvin L. Dille, of Chesterton, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 at his residence. He was 88.

He was born April 5, 1919 in Chesterton, the son of Rosco V. and Mildred M. (Marvin) Dille, both of whom preceded him in death.

On May 23, 1940 in Chesterton, he married Mildred Booth, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Wayne) Sovich of Valparaiso and Cheryl (Bruce) Bartholomew of Liberty Twp.; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Howard and Thomas Dille and two sisters, Doris Zugbaum and Mary Silverthorn.

Calvin was self-employed in construction. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of Chesterton American Legion Post 170.

Funeral services, Rev. Thelma Megill-Cobbler officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 31 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Swan lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
