Bob F. Cleek dies at 71

Bob F. Cleek, of Chesterton, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 28, 2007 at his home. He was 71.

He was born March 29, 1957 in Corinth, Miss., the son of Levin and Jessie (Leonard) Cleek, both of whom preceded him in death.

On March 29, 1957 in Corinth, Miss., he married Betty Ponda, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by sons, Bobbie F. (Lauri) Cleek, Jr. of Houston, Texas and Jerry A. (Donna) Cleek of Hobart; a daughter, Carolyn A. (Ron) Cleek-Rogers of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Nick Cleek, Katie Cleek-Rogers, Jake Cleek, Zach Cleek, Samantha Cleek and Ben Rogers; twin-brothers, Don Cleek, of Athens, Ala. and James Cleek of Paris, Tenn.; one sister, Nelda Bishop, of Halls, Tenn. and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a faithful member of the Portage Church of Christ. He was retired after 15 years of service as a vocational auto mechanic instructor at the Valparaiso Alternative School.

Funeral services, Jerry A. Cleek, Minister of Lowell Church of Christ, officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at White-Love Funeral Home.
