Barbara Lu Udvare dies at 58

Barbara Lu Udvare, age 58 of South Bend, formerly of Chesterton, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007.

She was born Sept. 4, 1948 in Michigan City, the daughter of the late Marvin W. and Esther (Jackson) Bock.

She is survived by Alvin Udvare Sr.; daughter, Sheila (Chris) Winkelman of Giddings, Texas; son, A.J. Udvare of Portage; sister, Bonnie L. (Mike Booth) Bock of Giddings, Texas; brother, Richard (Annie) Bock of Michigan City; nephew, Michael (Kimberly) Bock of Santa Fe, Texas; niece, Carla (Stacy) Sullivan of Gurnee, Ill.; granddaughter, Lena; and many other family members and lifelong friends.

Barbara was formerly a cosmetologist for many years in Michigan City and Valparaiso. She was also the former business owner of Sincerely Yours Craft Shop. She was very involved in her community. She was a loving and kind hearted person who always wanted to help others. Her children and granddaughter were her whole life. She was very spiritual and loved animals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 1 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 30 at the funeral home.
