Anastasia Nell Orsolini dies at 73

Anastasia “Nell” Orsolini, of Chesterton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. She was 73.

She was born April 1, 1930 in Jefferson, Pa., the daughter of Nester and Anna Bakay, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Aug. 19, 1950 she married Emidio A. Orsolini, who preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2006.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Orsolini of Chesterton; three daughters, Christina Orsolini, Debra Orsolini and Monique Orsolini, all of Chesterton; two sisters, Ann Veres and Kay Mazzotta, both of Pa.; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dustin) Ternet of Lebanon, Ind. and Anthony Orsolini of Portage; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander and Andrea Ternet and Riley Orsolini.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Emidio Mark Orsolini; a sister, Mary Pastovich and three brothers, John, Frank and Joe Lockoski.

Anastasia was a Unit Secretary for Porter Hospital. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was an avid reader. She was a devoted mother and wife, a wonderful cook with great love for her family and her faith.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Terry Bennis officiating, will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton. Cremation will follow services at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday with a Wake service at 4:30 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

Memorials may be made in the form of Masses or to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Nell.
